Fast-growing Westland-based company looking to hire experienced and reliable workers for full-time employment. We are fully insured and pride ourselves on the safety of our crew and equipment. Job offers year-round work for tree work, landscape, and commercial snow removal. We pay based on experience and are in the need of the following position: Job Description: Tree Crew Members are responsible for prepping and loading the truck with all necessary tools and equipment, defining the staging areas and safe zones on site, keeping job site clean by removing trimmed limbs and debris while assisting the climber. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Tree Crew Members are responsible for the daily preparation, safety and overall cleanliness of each job. Additional responsibilities include: • Set up and clean up, and taking good care of our trucks and machinery. • Working as part of a team. • Setting up safety items including positioning cones and signs and roping or taping off crew work areas. • Handing tools to the climber and receiving tools from the climber using a rope to hoist them up into the tree. • Gathering branches into piles, transporting to the chipper, feeding them into the chipper and unloading tree trunks and chips at the appropriate facility. • Operating all necessary equipment including but not limited to: chainsaw, blower, chipper, skid steer, loader, etc. • All operations, job sites and employees are safe and that the general public which might come into contact with the area will be safe. • Communicating effectively with other crew members and the public. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Must be able to work outdoors, in all weather conditions, doing very physical work, able to lift/carry 35-80 pounds often. • Dependable and able to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters. • Previous experience is helpful, but you must have an understanding of landscape basics. PREFERRED SKILLS • Chauffer’s Driver’s License. • CDL Driver’s License would be a plus. • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
