Orange County Rescue Mission Graduates Look Toward Bright Future

TUSTIN, CA — Last week, 13 adults and 18 children were celebrated for successfully completing a two-year work program through the Orange County Rescue Mission. The program, a spokesperson said, pairs formerly homeless men, women and children with clothing, food, education, mental health support, job training and transitional housing. While living at the rescue mission, residents attend a two-year program that provides them the skills to overcome homelessness, succeed in the workforce and to have homes of their own. In the year 2o2o, 33 adults and 31 children graduated from the program, a source told Patch. One graduate, Sharon Asta, said the program has given her life back. "Graduation day, definitely wasn't an easy journey but so worth it," Asta said. "So blessed to come out stronger and better on the other side. When the Lord makes us a promise, we can be boldly confident it will not come back void. Thank you, Jesus, I am free and have my life back. Amen." Another graduate, Kara Evans, acknowledged that graduates' successes were made possible only by their hard work. "Graduation was amazing!!!! I'm so proud of all of us," Evans said.
