Description

See period performances and hear music as you drive through the cemetery to pick up your meal for Mount Holly's annual fundraiser Mount Holly's Annual Spring Picnic Returns!  Come to a family-friendly fundraiser for the beautiful historic cemetery in the heart of downtown Little Rock.  The cemetery was donated to the city in 1843. Its serene beauty adds to the fascinating tales its denizens have to tell.  Enter from the Gaines Street gate at the back of the cemetery (across from Philander Smith College) to see Parkview High School students in period dress roaming the grounds. Enjoy live performances from musicians madrigal singers as you drive through the cemetery to pick up your boxed meal. Visit Mount Holly Cemetery, the treasure in the heart of Little Rock’s Historic District. Please join us for the festivities - and bring the kids! FAQ What are my transport/parking options once getting to the event? The main gates on Broadway will be closed and we are not encouraging a crowd to gather in the cemetery. Please enter at the back of the cemetery, on Gaines Street near the I-630 access road, and drive through along the designated path. Will I park? No. You will drive through the cemetery slowly along the designated route to see the performers and pick up your boxed meal. Will there be an auction? Not this year, unfortunately. What if it rains? The show must go on! If it rains, we will still hand out boxed meals and have performances, although there may be more umbrellas in use! Can I donate something extra to help Mount Holly survive this crazy time of pandemic? Absolutely! Please donate with or without purchasing a meal. We need all the help we can get! Will the Spring Picnic ever be an in-person event again? We sincerely hope so, and we are planning on it.
