Let's produce a harvest of Free Range Chickens this year. I have the land, the equipment, the know how, and enough money to get us started... you need to produce the labor. The labor consists of visiting my farm every day (1 mile from Middleton) and tend to the birds. Most days the tending can be < 1 hour, but then every 10 days requires one 8 hour day. The technique we use is the "Chicken Tractor" with electric fencing technique. It works, we have done it before. I can't do myself, because I am too busy growing veggies. Beginning to end: 10 to 12 week commitment. If you have a team, we can go big, I have lots of land. We can farm out the butchering, less money for us, or do it ourselves, I have a chicken-plucker and an experienced butcher. If done right, this is guaranteed money maker. The way it works is that I pay all of the expenses and infrastructure, you provide all of the labor, when we make a sale, we subtract the expense from the expenses from the income and split the rest 50/50.
