Seeking Professional Qualified Hotel Chief Engineer to oversee all aspects of a hotel Engineering Department. Overview: To Maintain the entire hotel facility, including physical building structures, all mechanical components,electrical wiring, HVAC systems, and related equipment for preventive maintenance programs. Ensuring the upkeep of guest areas. Manage all renovation and special projects. Plan and coordinate work, communicate goals in department meetings, and schedule employee work shift to ensure proper coverage during worked hours. Incorporate all Staff to be trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties. Essential job functions: Develops, implements, and manage emergency programs for the operations and maintenance of all equipment and physical structures, incorporate landscaping in compliance with corporate franchise standards, local, state and national codes, oversee regulations to protect the assets, Guests, and Employees, ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses, and maximize customer satisfaction. Knowledge of plumbing, caulking, restorations, installations, drywall, flooring. Conduct property walk-through to visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical store rooms, HVAC systems and any other related equipment. Maintain and repair the interior and exterior of building, hotel rooms, and contents. Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance in public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, back of the house spaces and grounds. Train, supervise and counsel department Staff and all other Employees under the direction of Engineering. Approves schedules and payroll by daily reviewing the costs with the budget. Adhere to all Corporate required purchasing policies, and controls to include all outside contractor bids, review schedules, replenish supplies and inventories in a timely and efficient to minimize waste. Establish an maintain procedures to protect and secure inventory and assets (tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, and all other FF&E.) etc Informs the General Manager and Hotel Department Managers on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s) related systems, and equipment offering prudent and cost-effective proposals for maintaining efficiencies. Monitor performance against plan details. Maintains appropriate supply of materials and equipment to carry out the normal day to day operating and maintenance requirements of the hotel. Produce a well-defined and organized system within the shop for the inventory, and storage areas. Available to report to the hotel in the event of any hotel emergency which necessitates the skills and expertise of the of the Chief Engineer. Other Skills/Abilities: Perform other duties as requested; such a coordination and supervision of special Guest requests for room and meeting space, banquet set-ups, or modification, construction of props for special hotel functions or hotel Staff Member relation events. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with Guests and Employees. Ability to positively communicate and instruct Team Members by offering assistance in areas where they lack knowledge, skills or experience to communicate fairly technical information into terms in which a lay person may easily understand. Requirements: Education High Scholl graduate or GED equivalent. Some college or trade school desired. HVAC and electrical certification (Preferred). Communication: Bilingual candidate a plus! Experience: Previous hotel-related experience is desired. At least 3 years of experience in a Management role. Must be eligible to work in the United States..(E-Verify) company policy. Physical condition: Job requires working inside and outside during many different weather conditions. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use hand tools and other devices to lift and carry materials. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must-show initiative in job performance, anticipate what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity. Computer knowledge a must! Written and verbal communication is imperative. Familiar with worksheets/spreadsheets.
