Have you tried taking that a half-step further and considering what the outcome would have been if we did not shut down? The outcome may not have been the same.
What is your tipping point for number of deaths? 542,000 in the USA is not high enough, so what is your number? How many would it take to make it worth it. Deaths / per economic cost. Or the inverse? Gov't says a person's life is worth $7-10 million.
What do you think the death toll would look like without a shutdown? 2 million? Maybe 5 million? Is that enough?
Then, of course, there is the traumatic experience of wearing a mask. The phycological baggage will last for decades from that abuse of government power, right?
