Join me for a re-do of my 40th birthday on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the Durfee Innovation Society! Last year, I had BIG plans to celebrate my 40th birthday with our Life Remodeled family. I’m talking 300 of my friends and family and Life Remodeled supporters coming together for a huge party with music, dancing, drinks and a delicious meal. However, like so many other things in 2020, we had to hit pause. My focus went from a fun-filled evening to the struggles so many of us faced as a result of the pandemic. Instead of sending our invitations and ordering a cake, we were giving out thousands of pounds of food and thousands of dollars worth of gift cards to Detroiters who were being disproportionately affected by the pandemic. I was ultimately able to celebrate my birthday with my loving wife and kids, and then virtually with so many of you. As a result of all your generous gifts to Life Remodeled, we not only raised a ton of donations for our mission, but I also let those who donated decide if they wanted me to temporarily cut off my signature blond tips... and I lost them! The good news? The blond hair is back, and, even though we still face pandemic-related challenges, I’m going to have the best 41st birthday party EVER this year!  I'd love for you to join me in person on Tuesday, May 18 at the Durfee Innovation Society to celebrate my 41st birthday as well as all of the good happening in our community at the DIS. We’ll celebrate outside, safe and socially distanced, and, if you’re comfortable, I’d also love to show you all of the amazing work we’ve done to beautify the building over the last year.
