Yo! Dog Walker has been making pups in Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Atwater Village, and the surrounding area happy since 2013, and we are seeking a Dog Walker (AKA a "pack leader") to join our expanding team! Job responsibilities: - Do pick ups, drop offs, and walks or hikes for multiple dogs at the same time - Supervise up to 15 dogs off leash at our doggy day care facility in Burbank, CA - Feedings and facility cleaning when at the dog day care - Capture content and send 'pupdates' to clients so they know their dogs are well taken care of - Bonus if able to sometimes handle overnight stays (you'll get paid extra!) - Be the best part of a dog's day! Compensation and what we provide: - You'll start on a contract-to-hire basis at $16 / hr. Based on qualifications, if you get hired as an employee, you'll have the opportunity to start at $16-20 / hr. - As an employee (not independent contractor), you'll receive paid time off and sick leave - We also insure, bond, provide liability and workers' comp insurance Beyond being responsible, trustworthy, and a total dog lover, you'd be a great fit for this role if...: - You love being active -- you're getting paid to work out and hang out with dogs! Many walkers get in over 20,000 steps a day, and some take our pack on hikes - Able to understand / quickly react to dog behavioral signals - Honesty: our customers entrust us with their fur babies, and often give us access to their homes -- they need to do this with complete peace of mind - Dependable: This is not a job for people who can't show up consistently -- our clients and their pups depend on you to show up when they request - High judgement in potential high pressure situations: You name it, it can happen. Can you roll with the punches if you need to figure out a last minute situation -- such as getting locked out of a client's house or a neighbor's dog breaking out of the yard and trying to get at one of your dogs? Qualifications: - Previous experience in pet care or a service-oriented field (e.g. restaurant experience, retail experience) - Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner - Clean driving record and dependable car for occasional dog pick ups/drop offs - You have a smartphone and grasp of what looks good on Instagram - Can work at least 6 hours, 5 days a week - You're qualified to work legally in LA - Can commit to working for at least 6 months - Will pass background / criminal record check - Can provide at least 2 references from previous employers
