Older Poet Seeks Friendly Visitors

When I was younger I was a "friendly visitor" at a Catholic church here (though I am not a Catholic) and was paired with a wonderful older woman born in Italy. It was such a pleasure just to go to spend time with her and hear about her life story! Now that I am an older man, I would enjoy having a friendly visitor myself. I'm a retired college English teacher, poet and amateur artist intrigued by Buddhism, who likes to play Scrabble and loves cats [I have a wonderful one: that's him in the photo]. I am gay. I live near Dolores Park here in San Franisco. I have several wonderful friends here, but recently two of them passed away. As a wise man [actually, it was my father] said, we have to work at friendships to keep them alive -- and also be open to making new friends. I like to encourage others. I am learning to listen. I don't give nearly as much "advice" as I used to. I'm basically cheerful and pleasant to be with. I have now had my two COVID vaccinations. If this appeals, please send an email telling about yourself, with a photo if convenient. Feel free to ask questions of me. After we exchange a few emails we can decide whether we want to meet.
