The Bird puppies are 10 weeks old. They came to the US from Mexico in the middle of January as just week old babies. Mom is Magpie and she is a 50-60lbs Shepherd-Shiba-Cattle Dog kind of mix. We suspect there were a few different fathers as well for the litter. We expect the puppies may range from 40-60lbs. Dove, Sparrow, Starling, Jay, Falcon, Chickadee are all living in one foster home together. Falcon is such a jealous guy! He really can’t stand being away from his humans, and he is especially distressed when any of the other puppies are getting any love and he isn’t. He will just whine and whine until he is picked up and loved as well. (When there’s a dog whining from his kennel, it’s always Falcon). He just loves being pet and held. He tolerates a lot of nipping from the smaller dogs (Dove/Starling/Chickadee), wrestles calmly with them and nips them back gently. He also wrestles with Jay, and it seems very gentle and playful. He is especially eager to play with our cat (following/chasing them, wanting to play), and he’s smart-- he makes a beeline for the cat food any chance that he gets. DPS Rescue will only consider a home that has had a dog in the last three years. This requirement is not met by fostering/petsitting, roommate's pets or having a family pet while growing up that remained at home. They will consider children who are over the age of 6
