Delicious "carry-out meals" cooked by Iraqi and Syrian refugees. A new food venue has come to town! LexRAP (Lexington Refugee Assistance Program), in coordination with First Parish Lexington ,has started a bi- monthly café called Hand in Hand Carry Out Cafe where local refugee women are able to come together to prepare dinners for the community. The women plan the menu and prepare the meal together. They enjoy the camaraderie and of course making a little money. The community, in return, gets to experience authentic Syrian and Iraqi traditional dishes. Tonight's menu is Qeema (with either ground lamb or beef depending on whether we can get Halal lamb), fragrant roast potatoes, fattoush, hummus, ball-alsham (similar to coconut cake) All meats and chicken are Halal Anyone with dietary restrictions or those who would like a vegetarian version please text or call Jilana at 508 662 1689
