Description

The Agricultural Spray Operator will manage all activities regarding the operations and maintenance of the GK sprayer for both the Northern and Southern divisions of Holiday Tree Farms, Inc. This position will also assist in coordinating farming operations and shop repairs between the two divisions. Duties: • Operate the GK for all spraying needs. • Transport sprayer and mix truck to the locations to be sprayed. • Maintain the sprayer and truck to keep in good condition. • Make sure all supplies and spare parts needed are kept in stock. • Stump grinding. • Mowing head lands, grass roadways, and waterways. • Operating large tractors subsoiling/tilling. • Hauling rock with dump truck. Repairing and building gravel roadways. • Helping with variety of farm maintenance and repairs. • Ensure that all harvest equipment is maintained properly and ready for the season. • Assist in ordering materials needed for repairs and maintenance. • Make sure we have the appropriate spare parts in stock prior to the start of harvest. • Coordinate with Management as to what repairs are priority. Qualifications: • Ability to read and interpret written pesticide and fertilizer application recommendations and requirements. • Basic mechanical skills. • Team player. • Work independently. • Able to sit, stand, kneel or bend for long periods of time. • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind). • Must be able to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a respirator. • Ability to work safely by following company safety and training programs. License and Certifications: • Valid Oregon driver license required with good driving record. • Ability to obtain a farm endorsement within 30 days. • Ability to obtain Oregon Dept of Agriculture Private Pesticide Applicator. • CDL helpful, but not required.
