CLEARWATER, FL — A pedestrian visiting Clearwater from Woodstock, Illinois, has died after being struck by a pickup truck on Gulf to Bay Boulevard Friday night. According to Clearwater Police, at 10:20 p.m. Michael Matte, 45, was wearing dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk when he tried to walk south across Gulf to Bay. He was struck and killed by Clearwater resident Trent Duttry, 22, who was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck. Duttry remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
