Description
Join us this Saturday for our trash pickup event in Garner! We will meet downtown where we will be divided into groups to collect trash. Thank you for your interest in attending our Garner community trash pickup event! We will be meeting at 12pm this Saturday at Full Bloom Coffee Roasters. There will be a little bit of time for everyone to gather and get coffee, tea, or a snack if they would like. From there we will split everyone up into groups of probably 3 people, depending on how many people attend. Each group will be assigned to a specific area where they will collect trash. A group will have people who are responsible for collecting trash and recyclables into two (or more) separate trash bags which will be separated by color. There will be gloves, and trash pickers available to anyone who doesn't have their own. The gloves are polyethylene coated safety gloves, there are small, medium, and large available. Trash bags will also be provided for everyone. Bags that have been filled will be brought back to the parking lot by Full Bloom where they will be placed into the back of a pickup truck. (Right now the plan is to rent a pickup truck from U-Haul but if anyone has a pickup truck they would like to volunteer that would be great as well!). The event will go on until 3pm for the first time, depending on how we all feel after that we can adjust the starting and ending time of future events. We want to make sure that everyone is safe so please check in before going home for the day. I will make sure to have everyone's contact information as well. This will be a masked event! Everyone should arrive to Full Bloom Coffee Roasters with a mask. Not everything that looks recyclable is! You can check the following link to see whether something is recyclable or not. There will also be papers handed out at the event with this information on it at the event. https://www.wm.com/us/en/recycle-right/recycling-101 And remember, safety is most important! Even with the safety gloves make sure not to touch any broken glass or anything sharp or otherwise dangerous. If you have any other questions about the event you can call / text me at (919) 809-5371 or shoot me an email at [email protected]. Thank you for your commitment to keeping our community clean, I look forward to seeing you this Saturday! If you plan on bringing anyone with you (ie. kids) but don't want to put in their contact information, when registering register for one volunteer but specify that you'll be bringing extra people so I know how many people are coming!
