Description
I mean no disrespect to the person selling Livestock Guardian puppies, but because of the German Shepherd (which is a herder), they are not Livestock Guardian Dogs. The Great Pyrenees is; however, when mixed with German Shepherd, they are not. There are other breeds of LGDs that you can mix, but the German Shepherd dog (GSD), has an opposing temperament that will most likely result in some/all of these dogs having a prey drive, which is not something LGDs have. They are purely guardians. No LGD group accepts this kind of cross. It sounds like this liter was an accidental or uninformed liter. That said, they would make great pets, so get one if that is your purpose - just not a livestock guardian dog. Do your research on them. Join a FB group. Ask questions. These puppies would be good pets most likely, but their temperaments would be unpredictable. I will not reply to emails or comments. I will repost this if I am flagged. It is just informative - not insulting.
