About Us: Past Lives, LLC is a unique community of artists, hobbyists and beginning business owners. Past Lives exists to create employment and mentorship opportunities for ex-convicts and anyone else overcoming traumatic and dysfunctional experiences. The work of Past Lives is to teach and learn skills, incubate small businesses and enrich the Portland community. Poor economic stability is the single most critical determinant to relapse and recidivism. We are tackling this problem at the source. All creators are welcome; prior conviction is not required. Our studio is filled with a diverse community of artists, allowing space for collaboration and learning opportunities. If you have an idea, and are looking for the space to bring it to life, we offer monthly memberships for $150/month! The jewelry making station is currently combined with our station for leather work, but we will gladly create a separate space for you. If you are willing to help set up that space, we will waive the first month membership fee. Also, if you have jewelry making tools to add to our collection, it would benefit the community in BIG ways! Past Lives LLC offers many other opportunities for artistic creation, including the chance to teach your craft. We host classes where artists earn $20/hour to share what they know and love.
