Experienced and established female vocalist/front person/collaborative songwriter/lyricist and drummer seek a high end collaborative musical experience. We are both versatile, skilled, and emotive, with a deep spiritual (not religious) call to connect deeply with others through music. We both know from experience that the right collaboration can be synergistic and transcendent. At a minimum, we need a guitarist and bass player before moving forward in any capacity. Appropriate/suitable players (of any instrument) would resonate with all of the following criteria: 1) Mature, well-developed, and humble, with a healthy ego, and seeking the synergistic joy that is generated by collaborating with others of like-spirit. 2) Dependable/Professional/Healthy. You may have other commitments in your life (we do), but you're willing to carve out a space regularly for music and allow it to be the priority in that space. You are willing to make a commitment to making music clean and sober. 3) Versatile - You are skilled with both electric and acoustic versions of your instrument (or styles, as applicable), are perhaps even a multi-instrumentalist or have an interest in being one, and are interested in and capable of co-creating in a variety of genres and influences. You are able to play something exactly as written/recorded and equally able to improvise. You can learn from charts/scores if needed, but can memorize them easily and not rely upon them as a crutch for performances. You are continually challenging yourself to learn and grow, musically and otherwise. 4) Skillful and tasteful - you know how to play, what to play, when to play, and perhaps most importantly, when not to play. You learn quickly and put in the time and effort to play well. 5) You are skilled in the art of listening, in terms of both interpersonal communication and musical conversation. We are committed to a drama-free musical collaboration in which bandmates treat one another with respect and compassion, and in which players are always listening to one another and themselves to optimize our musical collaboration. 6) Interested in doing challenging/worthwhile covers as well as co-creating or supporting original material. 7) Attuned to the emotional/emotive quality and characteristics of music, and sensitive to the importance and nuances of dynamic shading. 8) You strive for musical excellence, and want to be a part of something extraordinary.
