Info wanted about renting Veena, Sitar, or Sarod

I'm a retired Bay Area exile who plays solo bass and harmonium. I may wish to purchase one of the Indian instruments so named, but have never spent sufficient time with any to get a feel for whether they are right for me. I am particularly interested in electrified models, having little desire to adhere to classical forms and preferring fusion. If anyone is able to direct me to a location in Northern California that rents Indian stringed instruments, I would be grateful. Exorbitant rates are counterintuitive, as I can buy a sitar for a reasonable price (not so much the others). I have decent credit and am not a risk factor. Thanks.
