LA GRANGE, IL — A 79-year-old man was attacked outside his house early Sunday morning in La Grange, according to a police news release. The incident occurred about 3:20 a.m. in the 700 block of 11th Avenue. Officers saw the injured 79-year-old outside the house and found a suspect a short distance away near the garage, police said. Officers said they are in the process of identifying the suspect. Police said a preliminary investigation shows the 79-year-old confronted the suspect outside the house, then was attacked, the news release said. The victim and suspect did not know each other, police said. Police said they do not believe there was any threat to the public. They said extra patrols have been established.
