Bonded Pair of Rabbits Seeking Forever Home

Description

I am hoping to find a loving forever home for my two bonded rabbits. Unfortunately I am no longer able to give them a proper home, as I have recently become homeless and cannot keep them with me long term. My rabbits have always been free roamed indoors well cared for. Their daily diet consists of unlimited Timothy hay and water, fresh leafy greens, and 1/4 cup of pellets per bunny. I am looking for someone who has either cared for rabbits before or has done extensive research on proper care, housing and diet. The rabbits must stay together, as they are extremely bonded. About the rabbits: • Capone is a 3 year old neutered male, he is a Holland Lop/Mini Rex cross and weighs just under 4 lbs. Capone is highly intelligent and fairly active, he is fully litter box trained and has no problem being left unsupervised in the home. I've never had issues with him getting in to mischief or chewing/digging inside the house. Capone is socialized and used to being around humans, he enjoys being pet when you get down on his level to do so. He is not a huge fan of being picked up, but that's a common trait amongst most rabbits being that they are inherently animals of pray. • Baby will be a year old in June of this year, she is a female and not yet spayed. She is a double maned Lionhead (considered a dwarf breed) and weighs approximately 3 1/2 lbs. Baby is also quite intelligent and makes it known to us humans whether she likes or dislikes something. I like to describe her personality as sassy. She is fully litter box trained as well and has no issues with having accidents around the house. I have not been able to afford getting her spayed, otherwise I would have done so already. It is extremely important for female rabbits to be de-sexed, as they are at an extremely high risk (around an 80% chance) of developing reproductive cancers by the young age of 4 years old. For this reason alone I highly recommend getting her spayed at a rabbit savvy veterinarian. If you would like recommendations on where to take her I am happy to provide you with the names of a few locations in the Bay Area. Baby requires more grooming/brushing than most rabbits, as she has quite a lot of fur due to her breed. She doesn't shed any more than the next rabbit does, she just needs regular brushing to help ensure that she is not ingesting too much of her own fur. Baby is very independent and prefers to interact with humans on her own accord. She has always been this way, since first bringing her home at 6 weeks old. If you are interested in meeting them feel free to call or text me any time to set up a time and date for you to stop by. If you have any further questions, please let me know. The rehoming fee is $100 for the two of them, and they will come with lots of supplies and hay/pellets. Thanks for taking time to read our post!
