Description
Hello,
I'm getting my second Moderna shot at the end of the month.
I am primarily interested in other retired people who are musicians, but I don't want to discriminate against younger people either.
I am looking for a friendly environment, but also want to work on tunes.
I am a bass/guitar/accordion player. I have experience playing in quite a few bands over the years. I've done a lot of jams.
I'm mostly interested in Bluegrass, Blues, Country, Rock, Pop. I'm not really interested in Classic Rock anymore. I'm more interested in doing more current music.
I played bass in a Blues/Rock band a while back. Played bass in an Americana band for a while. Played bass in a jazz group for a while.
In Bluegrass I am interested in developing a lead style on acoustic guitar, and I have done a lot of that, but need a lot more work. But I can feel it happening. Playing with a singer/acoustic guitar player would be great.
The most recent thing I have done was play bass in a Church band during Covid-19. We played outside, just off the street, with the congregation sitting under a huge tree, in he parking lot. That was fun. Masks, socially distanced. That ended when winter came, and we couldn't go inside.
Most of the styles that I have just mentioned depend upon playing by ear, but I am also interested in people who read music notation (don't have to be great at sight reading, but able to work on a tune and learn it). So I spent some time this winter working on some music reading type music to put together a Coffee House house group. (duo only). On six string bass I learned a not-so-hard Bach tune, Corelli, Vivaldi, as well as a few Jazz standards, and some other stuff.
Thanks
Eric
