In search of dependable ground hand or apprentice lineman in the Leeds, AL area willing to travel around the region. This position will work with crews performing work in the telecommunications field. Must be willing to learn the telecommunications field and to climb poles. Requirements: • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license (a CDL is a plus). • Must have reliable transportation • Background Check Required • Random Drug Testing per DOT requirements Responsibilities: • Load and unload parts and materials to stock and maintain construction equipment • Throw 1-2 lb. weighted rope over elevated cable lines, and tree branches • Pull lashing equipment down cable lines to secure wires • Use pounding equipment to install grounding rods and anchors into ground • Assist in pulling out cable lines and other equipment used in installing cable TV wires • Operate chain hoist to add tension to cable and wires • Operate vehicle, following all safety and traffic regulations • Direct traffic flow in accordance with local DOT. guidelines • Safely utilize various construction hand tools • Follow all OSHA safety and company safety requirements, with or without supervision Please Note: This job description is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties or skills and due to the changing nature of the job is subject to review and change at any time, with or without notice.
