Description

Welcome! Declaration Statement: Assess and shift the nature of the narrative for the human experience of life in America. Its purpose is to document audio of human life in America as experienced in today's world. Who: We are a group of recording engineers/documentarians. We have been working with sound for many years and recently became influenced by the recorded oral histories of early American field recordings. We are interested in people and what they have to say be it real or imagined. What: Audio Life In America is a new audio program documenting life in America. The program is conducted as a free-form space for any individual to speak on any subject they wish for any length of time. We encourage all forms of speech and language including: stories (real or made up), social and political rants, conversations, life experiences, poetry, venting, statements, declarations, lyrics, interviews, songs, oral histories, gibberish, etc. Any and all forms of speech (positive, negative, or neutral) are welcome. This is an anonymous submissions program and no identifying information will be shared or used. Where: Anywhere in America by anyone in America. When: This program will be on-going and submissions will be posted on our Soundcloud once a month. How: Submissions will be made digitally via email or file sharing service. The audio files can be in any extension (WAV, MP3, AIFF, etc). Please put "AUDIO SUBMISSION" in the subject line. If living in Southern California or Minnesota, submissions can be provided anonymously in person. Why: This program aims to document and provide a voice for anyone who wishes to be heard. Through years of research into field recordings, we realized there isn't an anonymous space for anyone to speak or be heard. Contact us with any questions!
