Programming in Minecraft is a 5-day program offered in-person with limited enrollment! OVERVIEW Programming in Minecraft offers students an exciting introduction to coding inside Minecraft! Students operate in the MakeCode programming environment (embedded inside Minecraft: Education Edition) to complete custom-designed programming challenges. During this week-long program, students develop fundamental programming skills including automating functions, testing and correcting programming errors, and creating their own games in the world of Minecraft. Topics may include: Events and listenersVariablesConditional statementsLoopsArraysFunctionsIn addition to acquiring new knowledge, students will practice and strengthen the following competencies: Logical thinkingAlgorithmic thinkingCommunication and teamwork PROGRAM STRUCTURE Instructors begin each day with a preview of the key concepts to be covered, but the bulk of each day is reserved for students to engage in hands-on coding and problem-solving.During each session, every student will work through a series of activities specifically designed to apply their new knowledge.Throughout, instructors provide personalized guidance to each student as they work through programming challenges.
