It is SPRING !!! Join us at Star Farm to help move compost and mulch Rotary Club of Chicago Cosmopolitan is excited help Star Farm prepare their garden for another year of awesome organic produce. We are looking for volunteers to help move compost and mulch. The event is outdoors and volunteers are expected to wear facemask and practice social distancing. It might be chilly with scattered showers so wear appropriate clothing. We will have extra PPE, hand sanitizer and work gloves. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Star Farm Chicago is an urban farm and landscaping company established in 2016 in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. They work to increase access of local organic produce through farmers markets, pop-ups, delivery, and our local foods co-op. On the farm, they create an inclusive space by providing local jobs, vocational training and horticultural therapy to people with disabilities, employment barriers, and engaging women and children recovering from domestic violence.
