Woman Charged $5,705 For Coffee Spent Months Fighting For Refund

AURORA, CO — An Aurora woman spent more than two months battling her bank and a Colorado resort after she was charged more than $5,700 for a cup of coffee she purchased on Christmas Eve. Lisa Angello had met a client at Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora when she purchased a cinnamon dolce latte from the convenience store inside, she told The Denver Channel. The following Monday, she received an overdraft alert from her bank, USAA. Angello had been charged $5,705.70 for her single cup of coffee. The discovery prompted a "two-month nightmare" of phone calls and emails between Angelo, her bank and Gaylord Rockies. It wasn't until she contacted The Denver Channel that she finally received a provisional credit to her bank account. "And it doesn't even matter whose fault it is anymore.
