Description

JOB FUNCTION:  Planting, sticking plugs, lines and seeds on to slotted trays or pots. Plant irrigation, plant maintenance (pinching, patching, weeding). Loading and unloading product and hard goods from trucks. Spacing and moving plants within or between greenhouses or fields. Selecting patted plants from greenhouse and fields for orders. Arranging selected product into orders and prepping for shipment. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to take direction  Able to communicate with leas, supervisor and manager  Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment under strict deadlines  Distinguish between different plant types  Able to work in different department  Able to work flex hours as season requires  Ability to work holidays and weekends as needed QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:  Self-motivated  Reliable and punctual  Detail and safety oriented  Enthusiasm to look for ways to make improvements  Positive attitude and effective communication skills  Previous agricultural experience preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions  Work long hours during peak season, including weekends and holidays  Continuously walk, stand, bend, kneel, and reach overhead and from side to side – all for long periods of time  Lift and move product or equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot  With proper training, may be asked to drive equipment
