I've tried to let the OP's post slide. I know Trump has taken up residence in the heads of Leftists, the OP's post being a great example. They just can't let go. The reasons why people do things are not singular. Emotional and intellectual, and for some people spiritual and yes psychological reasons play a role in how we feel and act. In what leaders we choose, and what flag we wave. Arthur Schopenhauer, known as the "philosopher of pessimism", does make a point perhaps for 18th, 19th and 20th century thinking. His own Germany in the 1930s and 40s a case proving his point. Yet in today's world, where knowledge and information on most everything is freely available, the population is far more informed and less likely to fall for emotional or psychological motivations in decision making. Those that do exist on both the Left and Right. (my belief is there are far more on the Left) This theory of the OP that Trump supporters... "in essence these people do not find enough within themselves to be proud of. They seek another who seems to have all the ingredients missing in the flag wavers. Trump was ideal. He became a surrogate father image that was missing or harmful in the early life of the flag wavers."... ... is psychobabble of the most egregious kind. He is using this one quote to castigate all 75 million voters who supported the Trump agenda. He never considers that the vast majority support Trump because of the policies he enacted, keeping his promises to us. We were and are looking to a LEADER, not father figure. Trump led and his results were astonishing until the bioweapon attack from the CCP and the stolen election (oh no, that'll get me flagged). The OP simply continues the practice of the Left...project their own thoughts, feelings, emotions, motivations and actions onto Trump supporters. The Left knows the best defense is a great offense. Truth, rationality, sanity and facts be damned. It's like they are constantly asking us, "who're you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes". As with everything the Left accuses the right of doing and being...the OP is is simply projecting.
