Dear Duo Partner Still Wanted, You seem to be distressed. Possibly I can help. I took note of some of your concerns and issues and will address them individually: ~ you seem to be distressed Oh yeah...I already mentioned that. I guess there's no reason to mention it again. Maybe some people like to work with people who are strung tight, who knows. ~ "You solo guys, aren't you tired of playing with yourself?" I don't know if you've done the math or not, but each person in a duo act earns less than they would as a solo act. Go figure. That's because a $350 solo act does not automatically translate to a $700 duo act. There are far more solo gigs available than duo gigs available. Personally, I split my time between playing solo and playing with a full band. ~ "You must have some booking ability or at least able to locate venues to gig at that have what we do. I'm not doing all the work by the way." So, we've got to split the booking duties. That's fine & dandy, as long as the person you're splitting booking duties with has a clue. At this point, all I know about your marketing skills is your CL post. And your CL post includes a headline with a flaming negative: "Duo Partner 'Still' Wanted: Where is all the talent?" This headline screams: "I've been looking, but no one wants to work with me." It is a headline that immediately causes readers to ask: "So...how come no one wants to work with this guy?" Not to mention, the body of your post has a downright negative, complaining tone. If that's your idea of the type of marketing savvy it takes to book gigs (or find a partner)...you're sadly mistaken. Speaking of "marketing savvy and overall awareness": ~ "...put this together before things start booming again. It's coming soon !" Florida is open. Gigs have been readily available. Planning for when things start booming should've been done many, many months ago. It appears that you're not very "in touch" with the entertainment industry at all. ~ "I need U to send any audio or video with song U sing on, a partial list ok." It's the some ol' equation that seems to frustrate many a CL poster: Posting video clips and songlists with your ad will get you videos and songlists in return. Demands made anonymously....not so much. In conclusion... Maybe the problem is you. You're welcome!
