CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Loose leaf collection will run April 5 through April 30 in Cleveland Heights.
During those weeks in April, Heights residents can sweep their leaves onto the tree lawn and city crews will collect the leaves. Avoid sweeping leaves into the street, the city asked.
After April 30, residents will need to place their leaves, weeds, grass and small twigs into a Kraft paper yard bag, weighing less than 40 pounds each. Kraft bags will be collected on regular refuse days starting May 3. There is a 10 bag limit per collection.
Bags containing other material will not be collected, city officials said.
Branches and tree limbs should be bundled together with string or twine and weigh less than 40 pounds. Branches and limbs should not exceed 4-feet in length and 3 inches in diameter.
"Small logs must be cut in lengths of no more than 18 inches and no more than six inches in diameter. Please stack logs in a pile for collection. Please note that weight limits are established in the interest of employees' safety," the city said.
Items that do not adhere to the city's collection rules will not be picked up.
