MONTGOMERY, AL — Information released by the Alabama Department of Public Health shows that Jefferson County is slightly above the state average in the percentage of adults who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The ADPH shows 22 percent of adults in the state have been at least partially vaccinated, and 23.3 percent of adults in Jefferson County have received at least one dose. Although Jefferson County's percentage is higher that the statewide percentage, the state's largest county is not among the top 10: Wilcox County: 29.1 percentPerry County: 28.9 percentConecah County: 28 percentMarengo County: 27. 6 percentHale County: 27.2 percentClarke County: 26,8 percentDallas County: 25.9 percentLee County: 25.2 percentMonroe County: 25.1 percentColbert County: 24.7 percentRussell County shows the lowest vaccination percentage at 9.8 percent. The state has administered 1.3 million doses of the vaccine to 866,236 people, with 523,264 Alabamians fully vaccinated. Starting Monday, Alabama rolls out Phase 1c of the state vaccination plan, which includes those age 55 and older and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
