Description
- Maintains and keeps all equipment (trucks, trailers, mowers, small equipment, skid steers, and snow equipment) operational and in the field.
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
- Maintains all equipment in functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards and tracking all trucks so that we don't have expired inspections.
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Ensure equipment and vehicle preventive maintenance program runs effectively.
- Communicate progress on equipment maintenance and work to company management and field staff so that downtime is minimized.
