Peabody Confirms 6,000th Coronavirus Case

PEABODY, MA — Coronavirus numbers in the city saw a decrease this week. The Department of Public Health on Thursday released the latest COVID-19 metrics in Massachusetts. On the whole, the state saw more of an increase than it has in two months. But Peabody saw some improvement in its metrics. The positive test rate decreased from 3.47 percent to 3.22 percent, while the average daily incidence per 100,000 residents down from 24.1 to 21.8. There were 171 confirmed cases here in the previous two weeks, 18 fewer than last week's number. There have been 6,099 confirmed coronavirus cases in the city since the start of the pandemic.
