BOSTON — As Massachusetts ramps up its coronavirus vaccine effort, residents now have more options to get their shot. Certain Stop & Shop pharmacies offer vaccine appointments, similar to the model used by CVS and Walgreens. Appointments can be scheduled on Stop & Shop's website. The company did not announce a full list of locations in advance. The company, which has offered vaccines to Massachusetts residents since January, and extended into Rhode Island this week. Massachusetts is in Phase Two of vaccine distribution, meaning appointments are available to the following groups: Health care workersNursing home and long-tern care facility residentsFirst respondersResidents aged 65 and olderIndividuals with two or more certain medical conditionsResidents and staff of low-income and affordable senior housing Teachers, school staff and child care workers On Wednesday, Gov. Charlie Baker announced the state expects to open vaccine eligibility to all residents 16 and older April 19. The announcement came less than a week after President Joe Biden called for states to open eligibility across-the-board by May 1.
