More than 13,500 Bostonians Got Second Vaccine Dose This Week

BOSTON — Thirteen percent of Boston residents have been fully vaccinated, up from 11 percent last week, according to state data. More than half of Bostonians over 75 have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Roughly 3,750 people in the 65-to-74 age group got their first dose of the vaccine this week—41 percent of that age group has received just one dose of the vaccine, and 23 percent are fully vaccinated. Some of Boston's younger residents will be eligible for the vaccine beginning April 19, when the guidelines expand to include anyone over 16. Only one percent of Bostonians ages 0 to 19 have received the first dose of the vaccine and 386 people in that age group are fully vaccinated. The average daily incidence rate was lower than the previous week's, decreasing to 22.8 from 24.3. The percent positivity remained the same at 1.11 percent.
