LONG ISLAND, NY — Movie-goers rejoice! A year after movie theatres closed due to the coronavirus, AMC Theatres will be opening nearly all of its theaters nationwide - including all of its Long Island locations.
The chain has seven local locations in East Northport, Garden City, Glen Cove, Huntington, Levittown, Stony Brook, and Westbury.
Guests looking to return to the movie theaters can expect some changes to follow COVID-19 guidelines.
According to AMC, the theater will be adding extra time between movies to allow crew members to disinfect the auditorium.
In addition, the company stated that the facilities have upgraded HVAC systems with MERV 13 filters wherever possible.
Theaters will be showing a combination of new movies and old movies. They are also available to rent out for private screenings.
