Press release from Lindenhurst Public Schools: March 18, 2021 Members of the Lindenhurst High School Varsity Club, under the direction of Mike Cheskay and Janine Cheskay, recently implemented the "Varsity Club Athlete of the Week" program. "It is an opportunity to recognize those students who have continued to work so hard, despite the challenges they faced this year," said Cheskay. The weekly recognition encourages each district coach to nominate a player who has demonstrated leadership, skill and teamwork. The chosen athletes received a T-shirt and recognition on social media.
