STAMFORD, CT — A cat stuck inside a wall? Not a problem for members of the Stamford Fire Department, who cut into the wall, doing as little damage as possible, to free the frisky one on Friday morning. To get inside the wall, the cat "apparently took advantage of HVAC Technicians working in the attic and decided to explore the usually inaccessible space," fire officials said. The homeowners could hear the cat moving around and occasionally meowing, and called the department. At first, firefighters tried to rescue the cat from the attic hole which it crawled into, but they were unable to reach it, which led to cutting into the wall. As you can see from the video posted by the department on its Twitter page, other than some dust, the cat emerged unharmed. Rescue 1 and Engine 5 rescued a small Stamford resident from behind a wall this morning. Members did a nice job locating and preventing injury to the cat and minimizing damage to the house. #AlwaysOnDutySPFFA @IAFFNewsDesk @DougWStern @SFDPIO @CityofStamford @upffa @StamAdvocate pic.twitter.com/wM55qOAB6R— StamfordFFsLocal786 (@SPFFA786) March 19, 2021 We Don't Just Fight Fires… https://t.co/LD6OEv2Dwo— Stamford Fire (@SFDPIO) March 19, 2021
