CONNECTICUT — As eligibility for the coronavirus vaccine expanded to residents 45 and older on Friday, more places are offering inoculations. Some Stop & Shop supermarkets are now offering the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Eligible residents can make appointments on the Stop & Shop website. A Stop & Shop spokesperson told Patch the company can't specify which specific stores have the vaccine, but the company's website can show people what's available within 10 miles of their home. "We are currently only offering vaccines in select locations in Connecticut," a company official said. "All available appointments are updated on this website so we recommend checking the site regularly for new appointments." Connecticut, as of Thursday, has administered 966,705 first doses of the vaccine and 536,736 people are fully vaccinated. So far, 62 percent of Connecticut's population over the age of 55 has received at least one dose, including: 78 percent of those over the age of 7574 percent of those between 65 and 7446 percent of those between 55 and 64 In total, 33 percent of all adults in Connecticut over the age of 16 have received at least one dose. Besides Stop & Shop, there are several other retailers offering the COVID-19 vaccine, including Walmart, Walgreens and CVS.
