ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police said they arrested an Annapolis man on March 10, charging him with one count of soliciting sex from a minor. Officers identified the suspect as 78-year-old Richard Lenham. An incident report noted that a trooper from the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit posed as a 14-year-old boy on an online dating application. Lenham started a conversation with the undercover officer, the write-up informed, hoping to schedule a sexual meet-up. The report added that Lenham suggested meeting in Annapolis on March 10, and the undercover officer agreed.
