Ruben G. Mendoza and Melba Levick will sign their new book showcasing the beloved Spanish Style in Southern California! For this year's Modernism Week, Just Fabulous Palm Springs is honored to host architecture photographer Melba Levick and leading writer, archaelogist, and photographer Dr. Ruben G. Mendoza who will sign their new coffee table book, The Spanish Style House: From Enchanted Andalusia to the California Dream. The Spanish Style House presents the definitive picture of the style as it exists today. Mendoza and Levick capture the Spanish Style's aura of romance and drama as well as the comfortable and engaging proportions and great livability of the interior spaces. Deep shadow, arched doorways, trickling courtyard fountains, climbing bougainvillea on wrought-iron window grilles, wood-beamed ceilings, and white plaster walls are all hallmarks of the style. Featured houses include the George Washington Smith-designed Casa Blanca (1928) a Marc Appleton-designed beach house (2007), Casa de Pilatos in Seville, and the Alhambra of Granada.
