NRA Instructor Course for Personal Protection In The Home The goal of this course is to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Personal Protection In The Home Course. Required Materials: Pistol, 200 rounds of factory new ammunition (no reloads), eye & ear protection, extra magazines, gun belt, holster (must completely cover the trigger guard) and a mag pouch. Bring an empty 3-ring binder, highlighter, and a notepad. Bring your book you received when you took this class as a student. (If you need a replacement book they will be available at the class for $25) This course includes classroom and range time learning the knowledge and skills to teach Personal Protection In The Home. Roleplaying is a major part of an instructor course. Candidates take turns working in teams conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students. In order to take this course, You must have taken the NRA Personal Protection In The Home Course as a student. You must be an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor. You also must have had Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last 2 years.
