MILL VALLEY, CA — Deputies on Monday night seized more than a pound of marijuana, other drugs and a scale in a Mill Valley bust that started with deputies responding to a report of a shoplifting incident, the Marin County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies were dispatched at around 8:20 p.m. to the Tam Junction Walgreens store, authorities said. The report included a description of the and license plate number of the getaway vehicle. A sergeant in the area spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it but the vehicle did not stop, continuing onto Highway 101 from Shoreline Highway, authorities said. Deputies caught up with the vehicle at a Valero gas station after it was seen exiting at Seminary Drive, authorities said. The driver and two passengers were arrested, authorities said. One passenger ran away. A digital scale, 17.6 ounces of marijuana, 20 grams of methamphetamine and 1.3 grams of cocaine were found during the arrests, Sgt. Brenton Schneider said. Multiple debit/credit cards, personal checks and other identifying information not matching the names of anyone in the vehicle, authorities said. The suspects were arrested on suspicion of multiple charges, authorities said. Khairy C Alan Parker, 31 of San Francisco and Clarence Thompson III, 40 of San Rafael, remain in custody, Schneider said. Carlos Antonio Penate is no longer in custody, Schneider said.
