Have you ever had someone affect how you feel by what they said? Let's understand how by learning the power of our words.
The power to help or hinder lies in our thoughts and words. During this workshop, youth will learn about the true story of Desmond Tutu’s childhood from the book Very Mean Words and explore the impact of positive and negative words in our relationships (family, friends, school and community).
Concepts like compassion, forgiveness and respect will be practiced through a hands-on activity, and a light snack will be served.
This workshop is free, but registration is required. Open to youth grades 2 - 8.
