Thoughts on ceramic coating an exhaust manifold?

I've got a cast iron exhaust manifold that is notorious for cracking. I am considering getting it professionally ceramic coated to prevent it from cracking. I am hearing mixed opinions, some say this will protect it from that, others say it won't. Anyone done this before? Did it help? Is there something else I could do?
