SCARSDALE, NY — Scarsdale is one of the best places in New York to raise a family, according to Niche.com's 2021 survey. The rankings were based on public schools, crime rates, cost of living and family-friendly amenities. Data from the U.S. Census, FBI, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were also factored in. Here's what Niche had to say about Scarsdale, which received an overall grade of A+: Scarsdale is a suburb of New York City with a population of 17,837. Scarsdale is in Westchester County and is one of the best places to live in New York. Living in Scarsdale offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Scarsdale there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Residents of Scarsdale tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Scarsdale are highly rated. In this year's rankings, one Hudson Valley community was listed among the top 100 places for families across the United States: Chappaqua, clocking in at No. 87 nationally.
