This camp allows youth to explore a variety of exciting STEM-based activities. STEM Exploration Camp – 6th-8th Grade Youths entering 6th through 8th grades The cost is $145. Days 1 & 2: Engineering Lab Campers will work as physicists and engineers, carrying out experiments to investigate phenomena, principles and concepts involved in physical science and technology using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®EV3. Campers will go through a series of lessons that use hands-on experiments to explore gear ratios, friction and gravity. The unit concludes with an open-ended challenge, which provides an opportunity for students to apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge in creative ways. Days 3-5: Space Challenge Campers will work as scientists and engineers using LEGO® MINDSTORMS®EV3 to immerse themselves in motivating STEM activities that prompt creative problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. They’ll work on the Challenge Mat, an engaging and motivating platform where they’ll creatively apply their STEM knowledge and expand their problem-solving skills as they develop their Space Challenge solutions.
