Description
2 awesome piggies come with open-style cage, hay, pellets, hammocks and all their goodies they know and love.
They like 60-70 degrees fahrenheit to live in and they require daily fresh greens. We feed them about 9 am and 5 pm with leafy greens like lettuces, carrot tops, celery, sweet peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, fennel, nipplewort, flower leaves, borage, grass blades, bamboo, they LOVE bamboo.
Their cage is completely open top 2'x8' made of plastic CNC board and duct tape, a layer of 3" memory foam and hay with walls that are 12" tall. We line it with a twin size plastic mattress protector and towels that we wash weekly. The hay and poop gets moved to a garden bed or compost. They do not escape as they are prey animals seeking shelter from all outside elements. Other pets like dogs and cats are not a good combination with this cage style.
The two are sisters maybe 3 years old and have never fought but they do grumble at each other sometimes. Guinea pigs are an awesome bridge into animal science because they're like tiny farm animals. They have a wheel, a couple hammock systems, an igloo cubby, hay holder, nail clippers, towels, treats, water and food bowl. They're very cool pets. The orange one is a licker and the tri-color has nibbled us a couple times, but they're not defensive at all, just anxious and willing to eat what is put up to their mouths.
$40 rehoming fee, but flexible for the right home.
