I've run into this challenge so many times and have seen so many talented people fail by themselves until they get frustrated and eventually give up. Yes, we're very talented and have a lot to offer the music community and world at large! And yes, there's simply too much work in too many areas to be competitive in all of them. That's simple reality. Nobody can do it all. Taylor Swift has a production team, so does Justin Bieber, and so did the Beatles. Why do we think that we can do everything ourselves and magically do as well as these teams of people who work together and support each other? Even solo artists have a team so why are any of us trying to be solo artists without a team? I'm a recent transplant to the North Chicagoland area and am 100% dedicated to finding one or two key people to form a real music production team. Me? I'm a male keyboard singer/songwriter, former pro musician (multi-instrumentalist) and vocalist. Currently, I'm handling the recording/production and am finishing the build on a pro-level recording space. My studio (yes soundproofed and treated) will be done within a week or two (max), and I'm ready to audition potential partners in musical mayhem. THE PREFERRED PROFILE IS: 1) Highly talented 2) Extremely dedicated 3) Quirky personality 4) Photogenic (happy being a web personality) 5) Solid vocals + an additional instrument (and/or technical/video production skills!) 6) Has own transportation 7) Seasoned musician 8) Professional attitude 9) Reliable/accountable 10) No drug or diva/big ego issues 11) Prefer to compose/collaborate on originals (90-95%), but willing to rework an occasional cover (5-10%) in order to get in front of broader audiences.
