To help boost the economy in that country, they started printing money like there was no tomorrow. A story was told of a woman who took a basket full of money to buy bread. She left the money on the step and went inside. When she returned the basket was stolen, but they left the money.
When you print so much money with nothing to back it but the blessing of the people, money becomes worthless.
